Lucky dip Japanese Gachapon

One of my favourite things to do whilst visiting Japan is collect a few new Gachapon to add to my collection. These vending machine-dispensed capsule toys are super popular in Japan and the word 'gachapon' is made up from the two sounds "gacha" for the hand-cranking action of a toy-vending machine, and "pon" for the toy capsule landing in the collection tray.

I've got these ones in a "lucky dip" type container in the shop which really isn't quite the same as getting it from a machine but fun nevertheless!

These ones are a series of teeny tiny ceramic cups & saucers, plates and tea pots with or without pattern. Doll house size. Super cute!

You never know what you are going to get!
