For many years I have collected and felted woollen jumpers to upcycle and reuse in various products I make. This time I have used the felt to make a handy and one of a kind needle book kit.
The kits have everything you need included with all pieces pre-cut so you can just get on with the fun bit! Happy stitching!
Included in your one of a kind kit you have:
• 1 x piece of upcycled wool felt (for cover)
• 8 x pre-cut upcycled wool felt circles (to attach with embroidery stitches)
• 2 x pieces of commercial wool felt (for inside needle book)
• 1 x large piece of vintage or new lining fabric (to line inside of needle book)
• 1 x large piece of interfacing (to attach to fabric lining)
• 1 x small piece of vintage or new fabric for pocket (located on inside cover of needle book)
• 1 x small piece of interfacing (to attach to pocket fabric)
• 8 x corresponding coloured DMC Perle 5 Cotton strands (for embroidering circles)
• 4 x corresponding coloured DMC Perle 5 Cotton strands (for embroidering around the edge of needle book)
• 1 x vintage button (for fastening)
• 1 x length of string (for fastening book closed)
You will also need:
• Embroidery needle
• Embroidery scissors
• Sewing machine (optional - pocket can be hand sewn)
• Machine sewing thread
• Iron/ironing board
• Quilting clips
• Pinking Shears or pinking shear rotary cutter
• Sticky tape, quilting ruler, pencil
